Yuva Parivartan’s Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) addresses this by working across multiple aspects of rural life, ensuring that families are not dependent on a single source of income, but are able to build stable and sustainable livelihoods.
Our approach is holistic — focusing on strengthening resources, improving productivity, and enabling communities to become self-reliant. Instead of a single intervention, the program works through interconnected focus areas that directly impact income, sustainability, and quality of life.
Access to water is the foundation of rural livelihoods. The program works on creating water-secure villages through rainwater harvesting, solar irrigation, and sanitation initiatives. This ensures reliable access to clean water for both households and agriculture.
Farmers are supported to improve productivity by combining traditional knowledge with improved and climate-adaptive practices. This helps increase yield, reduce systemic risks, and make farming sustainably viable over time.
Livestock becomes an essential, resilient additional source of income. Through improved and scientific practices, rural households are able to scale income, improve baseline nutrition, and secure stable livelihood options.
Women are supported to become active, confident contributors to household income. Through targeted skill development and group-based initiatives, they gain financial independence and a stronger voice within their families and communities.
Farmers, youth, and women are equipped with practical, market-ready skills such as organic farming, solar repair, and tailoring. These skills unlock immediate opportunities for self-employment and diversify income streams beyond traditional boundary lines.
